I often say that food is so much more than just the sum of its parts. Calories, macronutrients (carbohydrates, fats, & protein), vitamins and minerals don't tell the complete story of how food impacts our health and well being. The food that we eat contains information that our bodies decode and use within our cells. If we are eating foods that do not promote health, or if we eat nourishing food and have trouble integrating it, we will experience imbalances.
In an ideal world, we would be able to get all of our nourishment from the foods that we eat. Based on your current health and medical history, family history, and medication usage, short-term use of supplements may be appropriate for you. When you think of supplements, a giant horse pill may come to mind, but that's not always the case. My approach is always to start with food and go from there.
Don't be fooled into thinking that a 'detox' is something that you can purchase and complete in 3 or 5 days. Your liver is responsible for detoxification, and never gets a day off. You can do more to support detoxification by having a reasonable bedtime than you can by purchasing a juice cleanse. Together, we can reduce the burden on your liver and support optimal liver function.
"A few months ago, I had the pleasure of working with Dana to improve my overall health and figure out some of my digestive issues. Throughout the process she was extremely professional, helpful and willing to listen. She researched my specific concerns and figured out things about my health no one has ever considered. I’m so grateful to have gone through the process with her and have continued to apply the suggestions she gave to me."

"You can't help but be drawn to Dana. Not only is she super knowledgeable, she is truly passionate and really enjoys what she does. My goals were to lose weight, become more active, eat less meat and refined carbs. Dana was very patient, listened carefully and helped me, as an extremist, learn how to set realistic goals to achieve the lifestyle I want. She is very skilled at explaining complex terminology into a language I can understand; and is always ready and willing to help and answer any questions I have. She is absolutely the best!"

“I had a wonderful experience consulting with Dana about my nutrition. She is very kind, caring, and easy to talk to about my personal situation. I really liked that she didn't just look at my diet, but also considered my lifestyle and how things in my life might be affecting me as well. She gave me amazing and achievable advice; everything she had me do, I was able to accomplish successfully and able to see the results I was looking for. She was able to help me tweak my diet so I was able to have a well rounded diet, not be hungry, and still lose the weight I wanted to. She also helped me get rid of a skin issue I was having. I also liked that she educated me about how foods would help me so that I have a better knowledge and understanding of foods. I would recommend her to all my friends and family.”

“Dana is very thorough and informed for each meeting. She is organized and prepared for each session and I felt comfortable asking her questions if I needed more clarity. She helped me maintain a healthy and nutritious diet with recipes and meal ideas so that I could start cooking at home. She also provided many options that work well with my pickiness.”
